For the last day of the celebration, I’m putting a fun new twist on my favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner, the stuffing!
While, my family always made a traditional white bread/cornbread stuffing for Thanksgiving growing up, over the last few years, I’ve put a few different spins on stuffing, including Slow Cooker Sweet Potato Stuffing made with sweet Hawaiian rolls, Gluten Free Stuffing made with gluten free bread and cornbread, and Bundt Pan Sausage Stuffing, made with a combination of Hawaiian bread stuffing and sausage.
This year, I decided to incorporate my favorite breakfast pastry, Everything Bagels, into my favorite Thanksgiving side dish and make Everything Bagel Stuffing!
The seasoning from the bagels gives this stuffing recipe a delicious flavor! It’s so easy to make and your guests will love the creativity!
Everything Bagel Stuffing Ingredients
- 1 package (6 count) Everything Bagels (cut into 1 inch cubes)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 stalks celery (chopped)
- 1 cup diced red onion
- 2 garlic cloves (crushed)
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp fresh sage (chopped)
- 4 eggs (whisked)
- 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
Everything Bagel Stuffing Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spread the cubed bagels evenly across two baking sheets.
Place in the oven for 20 minutes to toast, stirring halfway through.
Change the temperature on the oven to 400°F.
Add the butter to a large skillet over medium heat. Once the butter is melted, add the celery and onion. Cook for 4-5 minutes, then add the crushed garlic, salt, pepper and sage. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes. Remove from the heat and set aside.
Grease a large 9” x 13” baking dish, then add the toasted bagel cubes and sauteed vegetables. Pour the whisked eggs and chicken broth into the dish and toss everything together.
Loosely cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for 15-20 minutes.
The top of the bagel stuffing will get nice and crispy after you remove the foil, while the rest of the stuffing will stay nice and moist, giving you a great balance of textures and flavors in this bagel stuffing recipe!

This looks amazing! If doubling the amount, and cooking in two separate dishes, how might you recommend changing bake time?
Thanks so much Victoria! If you’re doubling it, but cooking in two separate dishes, the cooking time will be the same. Enjoy!
Is this alright to make the day before? On a time crunch this year and need to make things in advance.
Hi Lisa, yes I would bake it covered with foil for 30 minutes the day before, then refrigerate overnight and bake again covered with foil for 15 minutes, then uncovered for 15 minutes the day of.
