This is what the ultimate cheeseburger looks like!
Sriracha Candied Bacon, brie cheese, sriracha BBQ sauce, caramelized onions & arugula, with a juicy burger in the middle, now if that doesn’t scream ULTIMATE burger, I don’t know what does!
I’m currently traveling along the east coast. (I’m actually writing this post from my Mom’s cousins backyard in Newport, Rhode Island, while sitting in a rocking chair with a glass of homemade wine, not a bad way to blog! 😉 ) Before I left San Diego I whipped up a few new recipes, including this scrumptious cheeseburger, to share with all of you while I’m on the road!
This recipe has everything you want in a burger, sweet & spicy crispy bacon, creamy melted cheese, fresh arugula, sweet & spicy BBQ sauce, flavorful, buttery caramelized onions & a juicy, delicious burger patty!
The Ultimate Cheeseburger Ingredients
- 6 slices Sriracha Candied Bacon (click link for recipe)
- Caramelized Onions
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 cup onions (thick sliced)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp sriracha
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 8 oz brie cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- sriracha bbq sauce
- ¼ cup bbq sauce
- 1 tbsp sriracha
- 1 cup fresh arugula
Prepare the Sriracha Candied Bacon (click link for the full recipe).
Prepare the caramelized onions. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onions and cook down for 30 minutes.
While the onions are caramelizing, combine the ground beef, brown sugar, sriracha, soy sauce, garlic powder, salt and pepper, and form into 4 patties.
Grill the burgers for 6-8 minutes per side.
Top each burger with 2 oz of brie cheese 2 minutes before removing from the grill.
Combine the BBQ sauce and sriracha to make the sauce, then spread on each of the bottom buns. Place the arugula on top of the sauce, then place the burger on top of the arugula.
Place the caramelized onions and 1 ½ slices of bacon on top of each burger, add the top bun and serve.
Pick this baby up and dig in!
While you’re all grilling up this scrumptious burger, I’ll be exploring the Northeast and getting inspiration for new recipes!
