This creamy, sweet and spicy Jalapeno Pumpkin Dip recipe is an easy 5 minute appetizer that’s vegetarian, gluten free and perfect for parties!
Woo hoo, welcome to day three of “Jamaica Week” on WhitneyBond.com where I’m sharing four recipes inspired by my recent trip to Jamaica!
On day one, I shared a scrumptious 30 Minute Sweet Potato Soup Recipe. On day two, I shared a delicious recipe for Jamaican Jerk Beef Patties. And today I’m sharing a sweet and spicy dip recipe that I know you’re going to love!
One of my favorite spots at Couples Resort in Jamaica was the Veggie Bar right on the beach serving light and flavorful wraps and sandwiches, fresh coconuts and delicious dips, including this Jalapeno Pumpkin Dip with Sweet Potato Chips.
I would stop by the veggie bar every day before heading to the beach for a fresh coconut and to grab this dip to snack on while relaxing in the sand! (Can I go back there right now, please?!)
After eating this dip several times during the trip, I knew it was a must-make recipe for the blog!
I started chatting with Willis, who was working at the veggie bar on our last day in Jamaica. He gave me some insight into how they make the delicious dip and today I’m so excited to pass on the tasty recipe to all of you!
Jalapeno Pumpkin Dip Ingredients
- 8 oz cream cheese
- ¾ cup sour cream
- 15 oz pumpkin puree
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley
- 4 oz can sliced jalapenos (drained and rinsed)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp thyme
- ½ tsp sea salt
- ½ tsp ground black pepper
- ¼ cup olive oil
Jalapeno Pumpkin Dip Instructions
Add all of the ingredients to a blender or food processor. Puree until smooth. Chill until ready to serve.
Seriously guys, that’s all there is to it! It’s a super simple dish, that’s also super flavorful!
I served the dip with both Sweet Potato Chips & the Cranberry Pumpkin Seed Pita Chips from Trader Joe’s you see pictured in the images.
I absolutely loved those pita chips with this dip, but honestly, any sweet potato chip, tortilla chip or pita chip would be great with this dip!
Want to take the easiest recipe ever to Friendsgiving or Thanksgiving this year?! Here it is!
Thank you to Couples Resorts for providing our stay in Jamaica and inspiring this delicious Jalapeno Pumpkin Dip recipe!

I just returned home from Couples last night! This dip was my favorite thing at the resort! So glad you created a recipe!
I’m sitting here in the room dreaming about the pumpkin jalapeño dip and sweet potato chips now. I googled it on the off chance someone has made it. I’m at Swept Away this very minute and will get my hands on it every chance I get! I think I will try it with butternut and diced jalapeños when we get back home. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this! I, too, fell in love with this dip on my honeymoon many years ago and have dreamt about it since! I found a recipe on a towers isle board a while back and was wondering about the pumpkin to use. Their website called for a Caribbean calabaza pumpkin which of course is not sold anywhere near me. When I searched it did it was most similar to butternut squash. I wanted to try it this weekend for a party but was so torn on using butternut or canned/pie pumpkin. I’m glad to see you had good results with canned pumpkin! I think the only other difference between the recipe was that they used mayonnaise instead of sour cream. I’m so excited to try this!
